Tween Talk: Girls 101 is a virtual event for mom and tween to help open up the lines of communication for mother and daughter to discuss the changes and adjustment into teen life.
Tweens are faced with a lot of changes. Their bodies are changing. Their friendships and relationships are changing. Their attitudes are changing. This is a big adjustment for both mom and tween, so we want to help bring a little clarity to things.
We have lined up some of the best experts in their field to discuss puberty, wellness, nutrition, relationships, social media, and skin care.

Our Emcee - MeKael Black
Being a mother and wife was MeKael’s main focus in life, but to her surprise, her children would be the very reason she is now an author. Her inspiration for writing came from her two energetic, playful kids. Early one morning, at four o’clock, she woke up with the words to her first children’s book, What Will A-Tal Play Today? MeKael’s husband encouraged her not to leave the words on paper but to share those words with the world. The Fearless Princess is her second children’s book. The Fearless Princess is inspired by real-life events from her daughter’s life. She hopes this book encourages children and even grown-ups all over the world to be fearless, confident, and courageous.
MeKael grew up in the small town of Ellisville, MS. She attended and graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems and a Master’s in Instructional Technology. MeKael resides in Hattiesburg, MS. She is married to Dorian Black, an Investment Advisor at Black Financial Services, LLC. They have two wonderful children Asa (10) and Aixa (6). For the last five years, MeKael has been an active member on the PTO Board at her children’s school. She loves being creative, learning new things, and playing basketball with her family
